About MyCoastFIRE
A small site that does one thing: helps you figure out when you can stop saving for retirement.

Why this site exists
Most retirement calculators answer the question “how much do I need to retire?” That number is useful, but for anyone under 40 it’s so far away that it doesn’t change what you do on a Monday morning.
Coast FIRE asks a closer question: when can I stop putting money toward retirement and still get there? Once you know that date, you can make real decisions about your job, your hours and your savings rate. MyCoastFIRE exists to answer that one question well, with a calculator that shows its work and guides that explain the math in plain English.
How pages are written
Every guide starts from the math. Most of the numbers in the text are generated from the same code that runs the calculator, so if an assumption changes, the guides update with it instead of quietly going stale.
Each page is written for a specific question people search for, and its facts are checked against official sources and the calculator’s code before it goes live. We cite where our assumptions come from, and the methodology page lists every formula and default the calculator uses.
We don’t take payment for recommendations, and nothing on the site is personalized financial advice. See the disclaimer for the details.
Who runs it
MyCoastFIRE is run by LetUsBake, LLC, a small independent software company.
